Bluetooth is gone

My bluetooth wasn't working in Ubuntu so I ran this 'sudo apt-get remove --purge bluez' but now I have no bluetooth options at all. What should I do from here?

Ok, I was able to get my bluetooth icon etc back, but I am still unable to actually connect to any bluetooth devices. When I click the bluetooth icon its grayed out and it just says Bluetooth: On, Turn Off Bluetooth, and Preferences. When I go to preferences it says Bluetooth is disabled at the top and there is a large button in the middle that says Turn On Bluetooth. When I click that button it grays out and nothing ever happens. Any insight?
