when I download with addons mozilla a youtube video converter because I can't read my MP3 cd ( bought) with my external device, I need a MP3 codec to listen to the music, which does not work with vlc and totem (fedora).

An idea?

Will probably need some package that have mp3 codecs in order to play that. You'll have to search in Fedora repositories to find what you need.
Unfortunately you are not giving enough information about the problem, a more detailed description and output error messages is necessary to point you to the right direction.
