I have a feeling this one has not been asked before because it is so strange-
Friday I installed FC2 but started the install with not enough of the CD's I need to install all that I wanted so Saturday morning I reinstalled FC1 back on it because FC2 just wasn't working right.
After I installed it back and everything was going alright the script or words on the page started to disappear. I tried to log out and log back in and i couldn't because when it got to the page where the username is my keyboard wouldn't work, or there weren't any words on the page. Nothing would happen so I couldn't get back into Gnome again.
o matter what I tried, nothing worked sp I thought maybe I didn't install something right and I went back and did it all over again. That didn't work very long either before everything started to disappear too. I couldn't log in again so I reinstalled again just so I could get onto the internet to find out what is going on.
So that is about it, does anyone know what this is? I wanted to try to find out some of my own answers but, I don't even know what it could be? Where would I even begin to search?
Is this a dual boot? If so does windows have any problems?
Post your hardware.
Possible problems
x is misconfigured for your video card and / or monitor.
Your monitor high voltage power supply is starting to fail.
I have an HP Pavilion 503w
I bought it in Dec.-2002
I don't know what other hardware you want to know about, please let me know and I will find it out for you.
Up until this point I have had no problems with this computer what so ever. It has only been from the time I tried to install Fedora Core 2 that this started. Before that i had installed FC1 about three weeks ago and it was pretty normal, I had alot of fun with it until Friday.
Originally posted by aggscott No, not a duel boot. Only Linux Fedora Core 1.

Aggie
what kind of installations are you doing: updating or fresh installs (you choose this from GUIs if you are doing the non-text install)?
I choose the fresh install because I tried it the other way, where I just do an install over what is there and it doesn't work.it still has no script there.
If I choose the fresh install, I get right onto Gnome.
