Best software firewall

Since playing around with linux and freeBSD I never had much use for a software firewall because I'm behind a router. I now want to open up my box to access files from school. What is some of the better firewalls out there? This is for my FreeBSD 5.3 box if it matters.

Well, if you mean for the system itself, there's ipfw, ipfw2, ipf and pf (the handbook covers this nicely). If you want to put a box between your BSD machine and the rest of the net, I'd recommend m0n0wall
