Banshee audio player problems

I using suse 10.1. While i trying to play some mp3 songs the Banshee player cannot play some of the mp3 songs but some can. Why?

One more thing, the suse10.1 installed in my Acer laptop, but how do i configure the sound control to make it play the sound only in my external speaker(pluged to headphone), because now it play music ony both external speaker and the internal speaker by the laptop.

Use a sound mixer. KDE has arts, but it's really bad. Gnome uses esd.
I would personally install Alsa's own dmix:

First try the one that come with your desktop though.
