Authentication Issue in antiX Linux

Hello,

(I'm new to Linux, and my English might not be perfect, so please bear with me.)

When I boot the system, I'm prompted for a password. I enter the password and press Enter, but the system says that the authentication failed. To troubleshoot, I pressed Ctrl + Alt + F1, entered my login, and then entered the password. However, I encountered the error "Login incorrect."

I've been using antiX for a couple of days, and everything was working fine until now. I was hoping to learn more about Linux through this distribution, but I'm stuck and don't know what went wrong.

Thanks in advance!

Welcome to LinuxQuestions.

Which version did you install? full, base ?

linux is case sensitive, are you entering your username and password correctly?

Is this a dual boot computer? How much space did you allocate for antix? Maybe the root filesystem is full which will not allow you to login.

If you can get into desktop session. AntiX control panel under sessions has a way to edit slimski login. The button is labled login manager.

Or you can add another user using the antiX control panel.

I second the Caps lock key - especially if it's a laptop...

It would greatly help us better diagnose the OPs issues we'd need some log files and other supportive information so that we can guide the OP to a more optimum answer to the question.
