I have FC5 and I have been trying to record with audacity. In order to export any recordings as an mp3 i must find the plugin that does the converting. The plugin is called "libmp3lame.so.0". I have gone to the plugin section on audacity's web site and downloaded lame. I can not seem to figure out how to install this. I am also having issues finding this library. I was wondering if there is a tutorial available with step by step instrucions on installing the libmp3lame.so.0 plugin?
Honestly I think my problem is that I do not know how to compile source code. I am cluless when it comes to tar files and other zipped archives. I need help in that area as well. I am trying hard though to figure this stuff out, I am honestly refusing to go back to windows, I think the only thing i require now is this lame plugin, then I'll be set with linux performing all of MY computer needs. If there is anyone that can help me out I would definatly like to learn, and stick around to help others.
Easient thing to do is just install LAME. I don't know the Fedora repos very well, but I sure that on livna, or someplace easy, there is a Fedora .rpm for it.
