ATI Radeon 9600 SE

I've noticed Mandrake 10.1 comes with a few games. The majority work perfectly fine, the ones that use Direct Rendering like Chromium.. They lag, badly. I was wondering what was needed to update my video drivers for my ATI Radeon 9600SE?

Also, how do I close my X Session so I can update Xfree to 4.5.0?

The newest ATI drivers shouldn't be that difficult to install. Just download and run as root, followed by a fglrxconfig and a reboot. If you get better results than:

$ glxgears
7154 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1430.800 FPS
8627 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1725.400 FPS
8619 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1723.800 FPS
8519 frames in 5.0 seconds = 1703.800 FPS

Please tell me how, I have the same video card.
