ati driver the only way to switch display?

Hi, First of all, many thanks to all who help us noobs by having the patience to respond to all the obvious and not so obvious questions.

Am I missing something to switch amongst displays in KDE, or MUST I have an ATI driver.

The card is an ATI 9600se and is recognized as a rv350 ap radeon in YaST. Any help would be great, as using the s-video feed to my TV is preferable to this crappy monitor.

Also, why is my mouse pointer slowly creep towards the bottom of the screen? It is the mouse from the Logitech MX DUO (mouse and keyboard) it is also situated on a non-translucent surface.

TIA
CJAE
