ans to problem on hostnames:

Ok if anyone bumps into this problem here is what you do I'm using RH7.1:

You can go to your Terminal and log in as root so you type in:

su
*root password*
control-panel

and there four boxes come out... click on the one that looks like a network and change your hostname there to wahtever you want that way you wont have to do it every single time you reboot

and what problem would that be exactly???

if you mean how to set the hostname, simply edit the /etc/sysconfig/network file. much easier.

Oh, come on. That's much to easy.

For those who like the GUI approach: in many distros you can also type "netconf" or "linuxconf" at the command prompt to get to the same place.
