another Internet question

ok, i just got a copy of mandrake 9.1 and have everything i need. My only problem is i cannot connect to the internet because i have no clue where to setup my service provider. can someone please help me.

Well were not psychic and unless you provide details on how your connecting to your ISP, Cable Modem, DSL, Dialup and so on with any other hardware, well, were not going to to be much help either.

It is a local dialup. And my modem is showin to be workin in mandrake. people say used kppp but i can't find it and i use the kde shell.

kde shell? You mean the konsole which is a terminal program to use or get to your bash prompt, so you can use the bash shell.

At the terminal prompt, what do you get if you type kppp &? And if that doesn't work, login as root and see if it works as it might not be enabled for regular users to use or not in your path.
