AMD Barton and linux?

Hummm... I'm at work and don't have the error with me, but I went from a Thunderbird on a KT266A chipset to a Barton on a Nvida2 chipset..... Now this has speeded up my XP but when I try to install Linux, either libranet 2.0 or JAMD, it won't get past the initial hardware detection.

Anyone recommend a version of linux that likes bartons and nvida2 chipsets? (supporting a geoforce4 ti 4200 video card without adding support would be a bonus as well)

Appreciate the advice,

the problem is nvidia not releasing specs. you might
have to wait a little while.
