Posted this at the network section but maybe ill get more help here as I am a noobie

Just installed Redhat 9 and all went well except for the modem. The power light to the modem is always on but sometimes the adsl link is flashing and sometimes its off.

I did some research and found that I should install eciadsl-usermode-0.9-1.i586.rpm and I downloaded this using windows and transferred it over using floppy but then it said I needed perl-base to install it so I downloaded perl-base-5.8.3-5mdk.i586.rpm and it said it had some conflicts with the perl files already installed so it couldnt be installed.

So I was just wondering if anyone has had the same problem and how they fixed it or if anyone knows how I can install eciadsl or how I can get perl-base installed.

Also from the networking forum I found out that I shouldnt be using that perl mdk as it is a Mandrake rpm so is there a redhat perl-base or what should I use?
