ACPI problems with Toshiba Laptop Running Suse 9.1
I updated my system with security patches after installing Suse 9.1. Before installing all patches everything worked fine. After... at first reboot the system would not reboot. Reviewed some bug reports and tried turning off ACPI at boot and the system came up fine, but no sound. I have added new patches since then with the most recent update being within the last two days in the hopes of the problem being identified. I'm using a Toshiba Satellite 5005 S507 laptop that has a Yamaha sound card from the factory. I've already concluded that the problem isn't the sound card; it's that sound is associated with ACPI , as is screen saver too, perhaps, because it hangs every now and then requiring a full reboot. The current Kernal, as of July 28, is 2.6.5-7.104. Your thoughts and/or suggestions would be appreciated.
