Accessing Internet with Browser in Runlevel 3 CentOS 6.5

I logged in to my desktop in Runlevel 3 and type - firefox but the system response was - Error : no display specified.

I googled a bit and came up with Xvfb and it says:-

Description : Xvfb (X Virtual Frame Buffer) is an X server that is able to run
: on machines with no display hardware and no physical input
: devices. Xvfb simulates a dumb framebuffer using virtual memory.
: Xvfb does not open any devices, but behaves otherwise as an X
: display. Xvfb is normally used for testing servers.

I did a yum info xorg-x11-server-Xvfb and yes I have Xvfb installed.

And here as, I do have a graphic card, a monitor and a desktop but not a server, my brain went blank. I have no idea what to ask but the following:-

1) How to connect to the internet via firefox in Runlevel 3.
2) What about mouse control.
3) What is Xvfb, and when do you actually use it.

Thank you.

I know nothing about Xvfb and cannot help with that at all, but have you considered a text browser such as links, elinks, or lynx?

None of them will display graphics, but, of the three, elinks formats the page in a fashion most similar to graphical browsers.

you need to be in level 5 -- the GUI to run firefox

if you are in the TEXT ONLY mode ( level 3 ) you will have to use a text only browser like w3m

Code:
w3m google.com
--------- or ------------
