access oracle on w2k through FC3

Hi,

This is my configuration:

internet -----> ROUTER (port 22 is forwarded to 192.168.0.2:22)

192.168.0.1 is router (netgear)
192.168.0.2 is linux box with FC3.
192.168.0.3 is W2K box

W2K box has oracle.

This is what i want:

I want to access my oracle server on W2K box from work.

I am able to access oracle on my linux box through putty whichs tunnels my port 1521-access to my linux box though port 22 (both at work and though my router).

So I can get at my linux box.

Now I want to use the same port-22 tunnel from work to linux to arrive at an arbitrary port on linux (say 5555) and I want the access of this 5555 port on linux to be rerouted to my WK2 box (192.168.0.3) and specifically to my 1521 (oracle port) on W2K.

Does anyone has an idea to get this done.

Thanks.

So, you want the traffic from the oracle box to be forwarded through the linux box (over ssh) to your work computer? If that is the case, that's pretty easy. And, assuming your SSH server on the linux box is set up to allow it, you can specify ports to forward on the client side.

I did the same thing several months ago: I needed to access a window$ box within my network remotely (Windows Remote Desktop/Terminal Services). So, I just opened up port 22 to my linux box to establish an ssh session. Then, I just set up putty (my preferred client) to specify traffic to localhost:5518 on the client to go to 192.168.0.2:5518 (the windows box on the remote network) over ssh.
