I haven't got the faintest idea what it all means, but as far as I can see from searching around, these are the 3 command outputs that are usually asked for.

The only thing that I do know is that it's and advance AC97 - that seems to have something to do with intel 810 codec (whatever that may be) and it's not making any sound.

I have downloaded the latest version of the alsa thing 0.9.0rc5 (I think but even trying to comprehend the alsa project advice is giving me a blinding headache!

Any ideas as to how I get it working please
