Question A problem with "LibX11-dev"

Hello,

I have installed libX11-dev successfully on my Ubuntu
but when I type "locate libX11" it only returns
these two files.

************************************
/usr/lib/libX11.so.6
/usr/lib/libX11.s0.6.2.0
************************************

But there is "libX11.a" in "/usr/lib/" directory too.
And "locate" can not recognize it!

Does it need to be active or some thing?

With best regards,
Hassan

Hi,

You need to run
Code:
updatedb
right after adding new files, in order for locate to be able to find them.
Or else you have to wait until updatedb is run by cron

Hi Bathory,

I do not think it is because of updating or something.
It is updated!

Thanks anyway,
Hassan
