2 ethernet cards - performence help

I have a mandrake 9.2 box here, and it has 2 ethernet cards in it. Both are up and working both are set to 100mb yet when i do file xfers to the box from samba3 only 1 seems to get used. In samba i do have both cards listed. info below

eth0 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:01:02:A7:66:C3
inet addr:192.168.1.110 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:5156 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:845 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:559880 (546.7 Kb) TX bytes:109414 (106.8 Kb)
Interrupt:10 Base address:0xc400

eth1 Link encap:Ethernet HWaddr 00:01:03:23:FD1
inet addr:192.168.1.111 Bcast:192.168.1.255 Mask:255.255.255.0
UP BROADCAST RUNNING MULTICAST MTU:1500 Metric:1
RX packets:1989953 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 frame:0
TX packets:1023804 errors:0 dropped:0 overruns:0 carrier:0
collisions:0 txqueuelen:100
RX bytes:2926644144 (2791.0 Mb) TX bytes:64900675 (61.8 Mb)
Interrupt:12 Base address:0xc800

samba3
# Configure Samba to use multiple interfaces
# If you have multiple network interfaces then you must list them
# here. See the man page for details.
interfaces = 192.168.1.110/24 192.168.1.111/24

maybe i have the samba line setup wrong but testparm doesn't give an error or anything.... i'm just wondering why only 1 ethernet card is being used instead of 2, or will 2 only be used if there are 2 connections at the same time?

The thing is, it just seems slower to transfer 8gig between windows and samba then it does between windows and windows.

Also, if i'm transfering files from my pc the linux box, and i'm listening to music it will make the music skip. The music is being served off the linux box as well... any ideas on performance tuning are greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
sorrow
