Anybody with a source distro (like gentoo) run compiles that run the CPU flat out for ages - I've had a P4 running nonstop like that for days. So long as you get air moving past it you should be o.k.
Then again, hardware can break anytime ...
I run a program called "Folding at Home" it's a program that folds protiens and send the results back to the parent company. As a norm my cpu is running at 100% almost 24-7 I've been running this program for just about 3.5 years with no problem. So I wouldn't be worried about your cpu. As for the heat 125F is not bad at all.
I wouldn't worry about it. If it does start to have issues, the PC should shut down by itself. I've had machines that have had to shut down from too much constant use and bad airflow several times that still worked fine after the issue was sorted out--no permanent damage. Since yours didn't even get to this point it's definitely not anything to worry with.
