天olGroup00" Kernel panic error.

HI,

I have got a task to upgrade a kernel but after upgrading a kernel, I booted the system with the upgraded kernel but when it initializes the system, it gives me a 天olGroup00" not found Kernel panic error.

How I can this issue be resolved/troubleshooted ?

One of two things happened. 1) Your new kernel is not built the same way as your old kernel, so does not recognize something in the storage stack. or 2) You did something to the disk while upgrading the kernel which prevents it from seeing VolGroup00.

Based on the name, VolGroup00 is a volume group, most likely occupying one or more hard disks. Capture the console messages as the system comes up to see what disks are discovered and make sure all of your storage is available. Its a good idea not to delete your previous kernel when upgrading so you can reboot to it when there is a problem.
