'Fn' key is giving me problems

I am using a Laptop (Averatec 2200) and I am having problems with my 'Fn' key. I am running XFree86 with Fluxbox installed. I have XFree86 configured to use the 'pc104' keyboard. Whenever I press a key that also has a 'Fn' key letter/number associated with it (ex. 'J' having the number '2' on the top right of the key), the 'Fn' Key value appears. For example, Pressing 'J' would show up as '2' even though I'm not pressing down 'Fn' + 'J'. So when I actually want the letter 'J', I have to press 'Fn' + 'J'. It's almost like the whole process has been reversed by either XFree86 or Fluxbox. Is there any way I can just fix this or just disable the 'Fn' key all together?
