Hi,
We have been trying for ages now to get Zenworks to work now by using linux boot disks to create a connection to the linux server box and a linux partition on the hard drive of the computers so we can send out on mass software to over 300 + machines in our Novell Netware 5/6 .
Using ZIMGBOOT.exe to create the two boot disks
The first boot disk works fine
The first error message we got was Kernel panic VFS unable to mount root fs 0:2.00
We then found out that we had to configure the second boot disk to have the linux drivers for the network cards (Netgear FA310 and FA311). We have downloaded the drivers for these.
Using first Redhat Version 6.0 and the VI we edited the file to make sure it loaded the proper driver configurations _ NO LUCK.
Recently we upgraded the REDHAT linux box to 7.1. Tried redoing the boot disk. but are still getting the kernel panic message.
I have checked around the forums and have found some messages that are similar to our porblem so we are about to try them out.
Hi,
I gather you are using ZEN 3.0/2 what type of images are you trying to push down? (Windows, Linux etc) To get the ZENimaging to work you need a name server, you need workstation objects & workstation packages for those objects. Novell has a good support section for the ZFD3.x environment. Try looking there.
