x 11 and remote client

is it possible to use something like

x 1: 197.80.76.1

and get the desktop of your server on your
client ?

Hi..

X --query <hostname> :2

It will bring the ur <hostname> desktop in ALT F8. (provided it is enable in ur server)

but i have one more question:

is this X "Client" installed on my pc?
ok, i know you can`t answere this question,
but maybe you can tell me where i can get this
Client.
I just searched for "x terminal client" and didn`t find anything!

Hi..
I think u have X server in ur client linux also. if it is not avaialalbe , Install all the necessary X files from ur CD.

If it is a MS client use the following client

when i enter

X -query 197.xx.xx.xx :2

it is loading but the screen
stays black!
the x server is running (on the host pc)

it doesn`t stay black!
it seems to be the problem that x server is running, but i do not get any interface like kde or gnome!
how can that be configured?
