Question WPC11 v.4

I got a WPC11 v.4, threw it in an IBM Thinkpad running Slackware 9. Got the realtek drivers, and insmod-ed the prebuilt redhat one. Tried compiling a new one, but it segfaults when insmod-ed. The card will work for a bit off the prebuilt one, but everyso often, it'll just die. No network traffic will go between the card and access point. This seems to happen after a couple hundred KB of network traffic. It'll work again if I do "iwpriv wlan0 disable" then "iwpriv wlan0 enable", but only for another couple hundred KB, and it royally screws up whatever I had running (like ssh). Any help is appreciated. I've already read about everything I could find on this, and it seems that no one else had this problem.
