Obviously then netbios can only bind to one address on one NIC. Ailising (hacking) clearly isn't working. If I was you I would get an old computer and install a free firewall (I use Coyote Linux) and make yourself a firewall/router and be done with this mess. Besides, winboxes on the internet without protection is an open door for hackers, as I am sure you are aware.
I am using an old socket 7 motherboard that has both IDE channels dead. I run a floppy firewall without a hard drive so the IDE channels aren't required, so finding a firewall computer shouldn't be that hard. The reason for my reply was sometimes the simple stuff will bite you in the butt, even the experienced tech...
Yes, member57, I totally agree with you. Open Win boxes are a constant security threat. I think I will give up trying to get this Windoze machines working as they should, and I will just set up another Linux box as a firewall/gateway/router (I have some spare computer parts that may do the trick).

I think it should be said that you aren't trying to get the Windows machines "working as they should" you are actually trying to set them up to run in a way they where never designed for. At the same time you are laughing in the face of accepted network theory, you can't create a network that is private and public at the same time, that is what routers were created to do.
