windows-linux network problem with USB external HDD
Hi.
I have linux (Ubuntu 8.04) installed on my laptop and I want to access some folders which on my home PC (with windows XP installed).
First I've set these folders as share ones on WinXP (folder>properties).
Then in Ubuntu I've tried to open places>network and all seems to be fine: linux recongnize my windows network and I can see all the shared folders.
Here the problem:
If I try to access to folders which are fisically on my home PC (I mean that they are on an internal HD) there is no problem: ubuntu ask me for a password and then it connects to the folder and I can see and use all the files.
If I try to access to folders which are on an external USB HDD connected to my home PC ubuntu ask me for the password but then says: "Impossible to mount the position. Mount of Windows condivision failed". (I've translated this error message from the italian one so it may be not fully precise).
What can I do to access to these folders?
Thanks,
Robybo
