Windows - linux internet connection

hi guys
i've just been given the permission to hook my Linux box to the network for a day.
I use this Linux PC @ home but now i want to bring it to the office for internet connection.
On our network (office) , a windows XP box is serving as the defaut gateway ( DHCP and Internet connection sharing) and all other systems (all windows 98, 2000, & XP) connect to the internet thru this box.
Now if I bring by linux box, it will be the odd on out. i have redhat 9.0 on it

What should I do to quickly configure my linux box to logon onto the network & use the existing internet connection?

I have some knowledge of configuring Sambaconfig file but i'm not sure that will be enough.

Pls, help, I have to configure my Linux box and be sure it will work on the network before bringing it to the office.

Thakx.

you don't need samba in order to browse internet from your linux box. You need it when sharing files with windows box. Now for internet sharing do the following in the linux box.Do this in a terminal window

#netconfig

then it will ask you if you would like to setup networkin?
press yes

then it will open a box in which it will be asking you for the ipaddress dns server address etc..
as you said youir xp box is set as a DHCP server also.So simply check mark "use Dynamic IP configuration"

this will make you surf the internet. But what i assume is that your XP dhcp server throws you the default gateway as well as DNS server address also.
