Why i must fill DNS ?

My local network has 2 server:
- 1 run AD win2k3, it has role: file sharing, script mapping virtual drive (share folder on it).+ dns1 for Domain Controller.
- 1 Linux server: squid proxy + iptables + dhcp + dns2
When i active Linux server, no users can map virtual drive when they log on into domain. However, when i fill DNS address of Domain Controller for every users, it work well. My matter is how can my users can map virtual drive on Domain Controller when they login, no need to fill DNS address for users.
Is something configuration wrong on Linux server? How can i find and fix it?

Note:
- User can login although i have no fill DNS address, but new domain policy of DC not applied.
- dns1: abc.com
- dns2: xyz.com

Please help me solve the problem. Thanks so much

b:z :

What type of Domain Controller are you referring to? AD, OpenLDAP, other?

Also, if you can, please get someone who speaks better English to translate for you if possible. That would help a lot as this is a pre-dominantly English-speaking community. I promise you I'm not nit-picking but I do suggest you take a look at this page: http://www.catb.org/~esr/faqs/hacker....html#skills4.

Thanks!
