why does this not work on red hat 7? (ip masquerade etc)

echo 1 > /proc/sys/net/ipv4/ip_forward && iptables -t nat -A POSTROUTING -o out_interface (maybe eth0 ?????) -j MASQUERADE

I believe it hides your ip adress from proxy scans but on my sys it wont work.

I don`t know why but i am sure wanna know why it doesn`t work.

and how i can get it to work with red hat 7.

thanx.

For one, you need way more than that. You need to make sure you have NAT support in the kernel, setup iptables to accept packets, etc. Read the iptables-howto at tldp.org, it'll go into great depth on that.
