why can't I log in the chat on facebook ?

although I don't face any problem visiting facebook,every time I try to connect to chat its impossible!!I get no explanation for that, but whenever I use another computer with windows I can connect without problem. what is going wrong with linux?

do you have the problem only with facebook? or are there other sites with the same problem to connect with your Linux-machine?

Are you using any extensions in Firefox that force https, like the https-everywhere extension? If so that is a known problem with Facebook.

no I don't use any of them...
and I do have to add that when I started using my computer everything was quite fine, but suddenly something changed!!It's very annoying being incapable of chatting!!

I haven't ever try to use another sitefor chat, therefore it's rather difficult to answer your question!!
