rsh (Remote Shell) and ssh (Secure Shell) are ways of remotely logging into a computer. ssh is much the preferred one thes days because it uses encryption.
To use ssh you need the ssh (sshd) daemon running on the computer you want to access remotely - most major distros have an ssh package which will install it, set it up, and start it for you. "ssh hostname" from the client computer to log in, where hostname is the name of the computer running the daemon. If you don't have the hostname, or if name resolution is not working, you can use the IP address instead.
In the simplest case, without any keys set up, you will be prompted for the password on the remote system when you try to log in via ssh.
For more info, install ssh and "man ssh".
