What's the difference between Netscape and Mozilla?
I am currently using Netscape V6. When I invoke Mozilla, it looks and acts just like Netscape. I have read somewhere that Mozilla was the original code that ended up as Netscape.
So here are my questions:
1.) Is Netscape 6.0 a more robust and better product to use than the Mozilla that was included with Red Hat V7.1?
2.) Is there any advantage to using one of these products over the other?
3.) Is Mozilla maintained by anyone, or is it just a program once written and never updated?
4.) Here's a strange one: I became very discouraged the other day, when I could not get Mozilla to connect with my ISP. I was able to dial out and connect using wvdial, and the authentication-userid-password-starting ppp bash went just fine. But Mozilla would not talk to ppp. Finally I gave up and reloaded Linux. Then I tried Mozilla again and was, still, unable to access the net. So I downloaded and installed Netscape. Netscape was able to access the net just fine. Then, later, I tried Mozilla again and also was able to connect. Here's the question: Why was it not possible to connect Mozilla until after I used Netscape?

I think the main difference with them is that mozilla is just the erm.. geek version of netscape. it's got daily bui;d and such like, so you can always get the latest tiny changes just like that, as opposed to netscape versions chaning once every 3 months or so.
Also Netscape tends to say MOO! and FOO a whole lot less than Mozilla.

1. Well, the way I see it and from personal experience, I always had better luck and stability from Mozilla compared to Netscape. Though haven't tried 6.0, since lately I have been using Konquerer mostly.
2. I don't see any advantage, just the use of each though. Mozilla like I said above I think is more stable.
3. Yep its maintained, check out www.mozilla.org for more info and their website.
