Wanna make an FTp server


I have a really bad server that i would like to convert into a file server.



Spec
--------------------
200mhz
256mb
30GB (if it will install an OS i will upgrade)
18GB SCSI




I need a distro that will work with this server

Any Ideas?

umm are you saying that slackware is a good distro

Slackware is the best distro. It's simple, stable and fast. And it's probably the best tool to learn Linux because of it's simplicity. It's also the most UNIX-like distro.

you could do that in any distro really , but yes slack is a very stable and fast distro

ProFTP isn't the default Slackware's FTP anymore. I strongly suggest you to use Vsftp (VS for Very Secure) instead.
