I recently installed vsftpd and have been given a static ip address for my linux workstation. I was given the static ip address because I need to upload files periodically to my linux worksation and I previously had dynamic dhcp connection. i confirmed that vsftpd is working by ftp 127.0.0.1 and logging in anonymously.
the problem I have is I cannot ftp to the linux from my windows desktop using the program Secure FX-using ftp, sftp of ftp with ssh2 protocol ie how do I log into the server. Both computers are within the network at my institution so i do not think there should be any firewall issues.
