VPN connections?

i have a vpn connection setup to a site i visit. i never configured the vpn but i did create a link to log onto it just by using the windows wizard and default settings (obviously entering the ip i needed etc)

i want to be able to connect to that windows server the same way but from linux and im struggling to setup the connection. it doesnt have all the settings pre-configured like windows does so im unsure how to create the profile

please help

which vpn software? openvpn? freeswan?
which part of the config - you unsure?

can you tell me which software is best?

i dont mind which one i use i just want to be able to connect to a windows server from a linux desktop using vpn.

the vpn config wizard in windows setup my connection so all i had to do was type in the ip, user and pw. with linux im unsure on how to re-create that connection
