Cool Using serial port to configure Cisco router

With windows you have Hyperterminal, which lets you use the serial port to configure a directly connected cisco router using a console cable.

I'm looking for a similar tool for my new Redhat 9 machine. I'm a total Linux newbie and can't figure out how to do this.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks..............Richard

OK, I was able to launch minicom as root, configure the serial settings to 9600 8-n-1 which is what Cisco routers like, but I don't know how to make minicom communicate via the serial port....

Hope you have the serial port right - /dev/ttyS1 for com1, /dev/ttyS2 for com2.
