using port number below 1024


Hi,
could any one explain me how to use port number below 1023?

For what program or purpose? You usually need to have root privileges to run a server on ports below 1024. A bit more information is needed to understand what you are trying to acheive.

purpose is to develop rip packet generator with out having ip tables, so i want to access port number 520.
is ther any way to do it?
