unable to connect to internet on RHEL 4

Hi! Am new to linux. Trying to connect to internet. by doing service network restart getting msg "3c501 device etho does not seem to be present, delaying initialization".
On running command lspci |grep -i ethernet, getting following info
ethernet controller- Realtek semiconductor Ltd. : unknown device 8136 (rev 01)
subsystem- Gigabyte
On running command cat /etc/modrobe.conf, getting the following info
alias usb-controller ehci-hcd
alias usb-controller1 uhci-hcd
alias eth0 3c501
Dont know what to do. Can anybody help me?

Hi, By default RHEL does not detect Realtek and Marwell NIC cards. You'll have to install NIC drivers to fix this. Please follow the steps in the link http://wiki.centos.org/AdditionalRes...ealTekRTL8111b to fix the NIC issue.
