unable to acces internet after recompiling my kernel


hi,

i have recompiled my kernel 2.4.20

compilationn was successful
but

now i cannot access internet in both of the kernels ie in my custom kernel as well as default kernel

any idea how can i enable my net connection......

thanks in advance......

hi,
check First netwrok cable is working and properly connected.
Then check for /etc/init.d/netweork restart
then if it fails then check for modprobe 8139too and then restart network service as given in above line
