Timeouts from MS outlook to sendmail

I have sendmail 8.12 installed on a Linux9 server.

I can send and recieve mail to this server from clients using outlook express 6 but not from MS Outlook.

For some reason the MS outlook clients get pop3 and smtp timeouts.

If I go into the account setup in MS Outlook and run the test account function it works fine but when trying to send and recieve it times out.

Can any one help

Well first of all, this has nothing to do with Linux nor is it a Website Question or Suggestion. You should really try to place your questions in the most appropiate forum by reading the descriptions and not just picking the first link. This thread has been reported and will be moved accordingly.

Secondly, if you give us some more details on your configuration settings for Outlook, it might help determine what the problem is.

I am sorry.

MS outlook is set up for pop3 and smtp to just collect and send mail through the linux server running the sendmail. I have a out look express pc setup the same as the MS outlook pc tghat works fine. At this time I am leaving the smtp open no authentication but the pop3 uses plain text authentication at this time.

Nothing changed from the default setup on MS outlook and outlook express just added pop3 (110) smtp (25) and that is it.
