Dear Linux Users,
I am connected to a home network, with a PC running XP (don't blame me it's not my machine!). I'm connected on my laptop to the network using ethernet cable and a hub. The internet connection that I am sharing on the XP machine, works on my SuSE 8.2 laptop, however I am having difficultly accessing the network.
When I type lan:// into Konquerer I get the following error:
"The lisa daemon does not appear to be running.
In order to use the LAN Browser the lisa daemon must be installed and activated by the system administrator."
Anyone know how I can start this up, I've tried the Control Centre --> Internet & Network --> Local Network Browsing --> LiSa daemon tab with the suggested settings (i.e. pings to 192.168.0.1/255.255.255.0
. But it still doesn't work.
Anyone here know how I can put this right please, and also make this lisa daemon load automatically on startup.
Any help is much appreciated and I hope will help someone else too! :-)
Many Thanks,
Alex Housley
