Telnet connection refused

I have intalled Linux 7.2. I can not see telnet in services list. Does this mean telnet is not installed ? If yes, how do I enable telnetd.
Thanks,
Naveen

Search the forum, it's been stated at least dozens of times:
Don't use telnetd, use sshd instead.

Telnet is an inherintly insecure protocol, SSH encrypts authentication and supports two-factor authentication. Blah, blah, etc, etc, please use search.

If you've done a workstation installation then in.telnetd is not installed by default.

Do a "rpm -qa|grep telnet" to verify. if your machine hasn't got the telnet rpm then install it from your CD.

You should use SSH strictly speaking. But if your org is fairly well protected and you completely trust your colleagues then telnet is fine.
