Syslog for cisco devices

All,

We have a syslog on linux server where are logging logs for firewall and other cisco devices. currently i am trying to add new cisco device so when I add syslog server ip on cisco deivce will it by default log to file localX.log (depends which localX.log file is empty) or can we log to any log facility? If yes how to do that?

Sorry I am new to linux.

Thanks for help in advance.

Thanks

You should be able to chance the facility on the cisco device.

Alternatively if you have syslog-ng you would be able to filter and direct by the cisco device IP.
