SuSE 8.1 & WUSB11 Trouble....Pleaze help!
F.Y.I. ~ I'm a newbe~so...
Well there is nothing like rediving into a subject that's beat to death but any~who.
I'm running Suse 8.1 with the 2.4.19-4 stock kernel and I have a linksys Wireless USB Ver 2.5 , so it is a prism2 chipset~from what I've read so far. Now the problem is that all the drives I seem to find are for RedHat kernels. Regardless I compiled some of the closest ones I could find (from the linux Wlan project page, ~~linux-wlan-ng-0.1.1*-pre*.tar and the like) and it all seems to go ok until the "wlanctl-ng wlan0 lnxreq_ifstate ifstate=enable" and that returns a "unkown command wlanctl-ng" or something to that effect. I can't quote directly as I have to jump into XP to get on the net. So I guess I just need to find the correct .tar or .rpm . Anyone know were? I do have Redhat 8.0 pro as well and I did get alittle further in the process but didn't finish before I just reinstalled SuSE. SuSE handles my RAID controler were RH does not. Plus mounting my NTFS drives is just TOOooo sweet. Just not a Redhat Guy I guess. So if you, Linux Godz, could point me in the right direction I would be most greatful. I would never have to see Windows again :-)
Thankz, John
