I'm having a hard time installing my netgear fa311 network card because everywhere i look, i can't seem to get a straight answer. Everyplace I go assumes you know enough about linux. I, on the other hand, don't even know what the file extentions mean or which files are executable. From all appearances, making/installing a driver for my network card seems simple, but i have no understanding of what the "instructions" are telling me. Of the drivers i have, there seem to be 3 or 4 different files:
file.h
file.o
file.c
makefile
Where do they go? What do they do? How do i install them? I do have the kernel source installed. I'm running RedHat 7.0 If i've forgotten to include any details in my frustration that might be helpful, please let me know and I'll post it within a few hours. Thanks again for your help.
