If the hosts are all on the same network, there is no routing. The packet is placed on the wire, and the target hosts receives the packet. Routing is between networks.
Each needs to be on its own network. You can setup either two NICs in stations 2, 3, and 4 and configure them as routers (it should be obvious why 1 and 5 need only one NIC), and then wire each station in a series:
Code:
1 <-> 2 <-> 3 <-> 4 <-> 5
or place routers in between:
Code:
1 <=> R1

v
2 <=> R2
...

|
v
5 <=> R5
or
configure aliases for each NIC on station 2, 3, and 4, such that the aliases are one different networks.
configure aliases for each NIC on station 2, 3, and 4, such that the aliases are one different networks.
This could be pretty the cool solution!!
My prob is all the pcs have to get connected to the public network and they only have 1 NIC too. So, that is the constrain for me to place a router between each node.
Anyway, Im about to setup each pc such that they are in different network. how can i configure the aliases for each NIC?
the cyberciti.biz works in me..I just want to confirm is that both of the site have the same content..if it is the same,it could be fine!!
anyway thanx alot for your help..Its stop me to configure how to setup the router look a like pcs. =)
