SSL enabled without downloading certificate


Hi

Could any body give me a hint about enabling SSL in virtual hosts
per specific dir or files without the client downloading certificate?

Unfortunately, SSL doesn't play well with name-based virtual hosts, so this is most probably a no-go. You will have to have a separate IP address for each SSL-enabled virtual host. Refer to apache documentation.

You have to buy a proper certificate if you want https work without browser warnings or users having to download the certificate.
You can get one from USD20/year. I'm not sure if it's allowed to post links to commercial sites here, but you can search for "go daddy certificates"
