Question Slow sendmail, sm-client start on changing my hostname

Hey all,
I would like to change my notebook's hostname but it is causing a wierd problem. Everytime I change it using the network configuration tool and reboot, sendmail takes around 3-4 minutes to start, and so does sm-client. When I set it back to the default localhost.localdomain, things work out fine.

But I want a different name for this machine and would like to change it. Can anyone tell me what the problem is?

Under hosts, in the network tool, I also added <newname> (under hostname) as 127.0.0.1 with alias localhost, but even that didn't solve the problem.

I am on Fedora i386.
