I am trying to get the slmodem driver to work on a Toshiba Satellite A10-S100 laptop on ubuntu 5.10 Breezy Badger kernel 2.6.12-10-386
I successfuly compiled the 2.9.10 version, ran modprobe slamr, and recieved an error:
Code:
FATAL: Error inserting slamr (/lib/modules/2.6.12-10-386/extra/slamr.ko): Unknown symbol in module, or unknown parameter (see dmesg)
dmesg|grep slamr gave (:
Code:
slamr: Unknown symbol get_device
slamr: Unknown symbol put_device
slamr: Unknown symbol device_release_driver
I tried it with the ungrab-winmodem module, which compiled and inserted flawlessly, and recieved the same error, and an identical addition to dmesg.
version 2.9.9e-pre1, with or with ungrab-winmodem, gave exactly the same errors.
Is there a patch or something I can apply (preferably to the driver source as I would prefer not to recompile my kernel, though I would if I had to)?
Is there a configuration option to set/unset in the kernel source and recompile? (see above)
Any help appreciated
